Scottish football reporters Jordan Campbell and Bill Young have both slammed Allan McGregor for his passing for Glasgow Rangers this afternoon.

The Lowdown: Not at his best

Unfortunately, McGregor has not been at his best this season, and has especially struggled to find form recently.

There have even been calls for the veteran goalkeeper to be dropped, while some reports have claimed that he will be replaced for next season.

The Latest: Poor distribution

McGregor’s poor distribution against Aberdeen has now come into the spotlight, as he was inaccurate with several of his long ball attempts, and gave possession away far too many times (SofaScore), misplacing about a third of his total passes (33%).

The Athletic journalist Campbell noticed that he ‘made mistakes’ with his kicking while going long in the game, while Scottish football expert Young even went as far as claim that his distribution off of the ground was ‘appalling’.

The Verdict: Knows better

McGregor is a seasoned pro and will know that he needs to start performing better on the pitch, especially with regards to his distribution.

With Celtic still leading at the top of the table, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team know that they simply cannot afford many dropped points from now until the end of the campaign, and so everyone needs to be fully focused.

McGregor, who earns £13,000-per-week at Ibrox, is one of those who needs to start finding some form soon.
